Solutions for Host Connectivity

Getting information to and from your field offices into has been greatly simplified with the use of wireless technology. This transfer of information is made possible through host connectivity and can now be accomplished two different ways with the use of Wavelink Terminal Emulation and Wavelink Industrial Browser.

Wavelink was instrumental in developing Terminal Emulation for rugged mobile devices. Wavelink has over 5000 enterprises using over 1.5 million installed clients. This technology emulates the sophisticated programs running on a host server to be emulated or mirrored onto the hand held devices. Terminal Emulation enables these devices to be connected to these host servers allowing them download information such as inventory numbers.

The second way to connect to a host server is through the internet with the Wavelink Industrial Browser. The Wavelink Industrial Browser allows mobile devices to access the Internet for data input on web-based applications. Mobile workers will have direct access to inventory information and can utilize hot keys to toggle between Web-based and TE applications. Workers stay focused by accessing only approved web applications and URLs. Custom keyboard mapping and manipulating scanned data also help increase productivity.

The Wavelink Industrial Browser supports rugged mobile devices from almost any vendor on a variety of platforms. It even supports reading RFID data with barcode and other data collection information from scanners and readers. The Wavelink Industrial Browser is available as a stand-alone browser or as a 3-in-1 including the industrial browser plus 3270/5250 or VT/HP emulations.
