Avalanche Smartphone and Tablet Management 2.0 Coming Soon!
There is no question that smartphones and tablets continue to evolve at a staggering rate. Wavelink’s development of our smartphone and tablet MDM solution is no exception. To coincide with the availability of iOS 5, Wavelink’s ever evolving solution will be iOS 5 compatible, along with the following new features:
- Support for the Apple MDM Protocol, allowing background updates and update on-demand
- Support for the Google C2DM protocol, which has the ability to wake-up devices running the Android OS on-demand
- Support for retrieval of active software on Apple devices
- Support for AppStore software shortcuts via Software Distribution
- Support for the Apple APN / Proxy Profile
- WebClip support, which allows URL shortcuts to be placed on the Apple desktop
- Support for remote device lock for Apple devices
- Technology Preview of the iOS and Android dashboard module

The Next Generation of SecurePlus
SecurePlus 1.1 is now available; this next generation of SecurePlus further enhances Wavelink’s existing user authentication and security for all mobile devices, enabling your administrators to grant and restrict access to the device, applications and data, whether the device is connected to the network or not.
As we continue to evolve all Wavelink solutions based on market needs, the new version of SecurePlus has been updated to meet the changing security needs to secure data on the mobile device and network. SecurePlus offers a client-side solution that can be centrally managed in order to provide a high level of security for mobile devices, particularly in those critical moments when a device is lost or stolen. New features in SecurePlus 1.1 include automated migration from CE Secure; Wavelink’s predecessor to SecurePlus, an encryption update to 3DES (Triple DES) for stronger encryption without impacting client performance, and a wider range of client OS support. SecurePlus can be centrally configured, deployed and managed with Wavelink Avalanche.
Don’t forget to use SecurePlus in conjunction with Avalanche Certificate Manager and give administrators the ability to control authentication to the network by allowing each user to authenticate using unique, individual digital certificates. Certificate Manager can automatically request certificate renewals and install certificates over the air.
