LXE Preloads Wavelink Terminal Emulation and Wavelink Industrial Browser
Your LXE devices will now not only come preloaded with Wavelink Avalanche but also preloaded and pre-licensed with Wavelink Terminal Emulation and Wavelink Industrial Browser. LXE, a designer of rugged wireless computers and data collection solutions, recently selected Wavelink, as they preferred software vendor for managing all of their mobile devices.
With Wavelink software already installed on the LXE devices, you will have readily available access to software that manages your LXE devices and connects them to host systems. Wavelink Terminal Emulation certification on LXE Windows Mobile® and Windows CE®-based mobile computers also enables the use of Wavelink Speakeasy plug-ins for rapid deployment of LXE devices in voice logistics applications. LXE is including the first year of Wavelink maintenance free with the purchase of Wavelink Terminal Emulation or Industrial Browser licenses from LXE.
New Release of Wavelink Communicator
The latest release of Wavelink Communicator brings additional support for new devices by introducing support for Windows CE 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1. New mobile computer support includes Motorola, Datalogic and Intermec devices. Included in the release is a standalone version of Communicator via Microsoft® ActiveSync and includes device-side configuration functionality.
Wavelink Communicator provides client-side, push-to-talk communication that allows users to hold one-to-one (unicast) or one-to-many (multicast) conversations. Two-way radio functionality is accomplished without requiring users to purchase additional devices or monthly usage plans. By residing completely client-side, it eliminates the need for costly server-side hardware and software and can be deployed in a matter of minutes.
With this latest release more organizations can extend push-to-talk, walkie-talkie functionality to their existing ruggedized mobile devices and improve their communications flow. Existing maintained customers will receive the upgrade free of charge.

Avalanche End-of-Life Product Information – Deadline Extended
We are extending the End of Life Notice for Avalanche 3.x and Prior until March 31, 2010. At that time, no licenses or maintenance sales will be accepted. Please review the information below and if you have further questions, please contact your Wavelink Representative.
Please carefully review the information below and ensure that your organization is aware of these changes.
- Effective immediately, Wavelink will no longer release enhancements for those Avalanche versions.
- Effective March 31, 2010, Wavelink will no longer sell or renew standard annual maintenance for those Avalanche versions. For customers needing extra time to make the transition, premium maintenance may be available at an additional cost. Contact Wavelink Sales for availability and pricing.
- Effective March 31, 2011, Wavelink will end all standard support for those Avalanche versions.
We encourage your affected customers to make plans to upgrade to Avalanche SE or Avalanche MC as soon as possible to avoid any problems with this end-of-life schedule.
For those customers needing assistance upgrading or with training for the newest Avalanche platform, Wavelink offers Certified Professional Services. Wavelink has multiple solutions to assist customers migrating from older versions of Avalanche to the latest version. Services include onsite or remote upgrade and migration assistance, and onsite or remote product training.
